What this directory is

Ontario Roofing Directory lists 200 roofing contractor businesses operating across Ontario, built for homeowners who want to compare roofers on something firmer than a sales pitch. Instead of taking submissions from contractors or selling the top slot, we assemble each listing from public business records and a synthesis of recent Google reviews, then score every company against the same published rubric. The result is a ranking that reflects what customers have actually reported, not who paid the most for placement.

How listings and reviews work

Each profile starts from public business data: registration details, service areas, years active, and similar facts a homeowner would want confirmed. On top of that, we read recent Google reviews for the business and summarize the patterns we find, things like response time, pricing clarity, and workmanship complaints. We do not copy or republish review text; if you want to read what customers actually wrote, every listing links out to the business’s Google reviews directly.

Rankings, sponsorship, and corrections

Rankings are earned. They come out of the data and the published rubric, and nothing else moves them. Some listings on the site are Sponsored: those are clearly labelled as such, displayed in their own section separate from the earned ranking, and never change a business’s score, sentiment summary, or position on the list. A business that finds an error in its own listing, a wrong phone number, an outdated address, a service area that’s changed, can request a correction to those facts. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking; those stay tied to the underlying data and rubric regardless of who’s asking.

Ontario Roofing Directory is also an independent directory and comparison resource in a more practical sense: we generate enquiries for the providers listed here. When you ask to be matched with a roofer, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for doing so. That arrangement is disclosed on the quote page, and it has no bearing on scores or earned rankings, which are set before any enquiry ever happens.

Who runs this

The site is published by Ontario Roofing Directory, live since 2026, built to give homeowners transparent pricing signals and verifiable track records instead of scattered ads and inflated claims. The database is refreshed monthly to keep listings and rankings current. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Marcus Ramos, Research Lead.
